Fellowship Opportunities
"God is calling us in fellowship…."
- Sunday School
- While members and guests experience Christian Fellowship through all activities
at Bethany, many life-long "church family" relationships are formed in our
Sunday School classes.
- Worship Services
- Each of our worship services is designed and conducted to bring us closer
to God and to each other as the Body of Christ.
- Fellowship Lunch
- Our "pot-luck" luncheon each Sunday after the morning worship service
is a tradition at Bethany for fellowship and food! The church provides main
dishes, bread, and drinks, and members provide side dishes and desserts.
- Butterfly Picnic
- Held on the Saturday before Easter, this event celebrates the Easter story
and includes a traditional Easter Egg Hunt.
- Thanksgiving
- A Vespers Service and Fellowship Dinner are held on the Friday evening preceding
Thanksgiving Day.
- Advent Festival & Breakfast
- The Advent Festival and Breakfast are held during the Sunday School period
for two weeks in December with crafts and other activities to focus on Advent.
- Advent Service & Tasting Party
- A special worship service at the start of Advent to celebrate decoration
of the Sanctuary is followed by a tasting party to share special treats prepared
by members.
- Live Nativity
- Held on the Friday and Sunday immediately preceding Christmas Day, the real purpose
of Christmas is shown to the Houston community through a Live Nativity.
Parties, picnics, talent shows, fundraisers, retreats, fellowship dinners, lock-ins,
festivals, and other special events are scheduled throughout the year.
- Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF)
- CMF provides an opportunity for all the men of Bethany
to participate in various aspects of the church's life and
to give of each man's varied talents. The group meets on the first Sunday morning (before Sunday School)
of each month for breakfast, devotional time, and
a brief study or project. We participate in special projects with
the Christian Community Service Center and Woodlands Christian Towers,
and by packaging and distributing food.
- Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF)
- CWF provides opportunities for worship, study, service, leadership development,
and ever-deepening friendship among the women of Bethany. The group meets
at 10:30 AM on the first Tuesday of each month with an inspirational program
and luncheon. Studies of the Bible or issues for action, or mission take place
in smaller groups on the third Tuesday, followed by a luncheon.
- Bethany Reading Buddies
- Bethany Reading Buddies is a group of adult women that meets once a month
to discuss a variety of interesting books. It is a casual group, meeting in
the members' homes for fun, Christian fellowship, and lively discussions.
Visitors and new members are welcome.
